It was a gloomy day and I was out wandering, having left work before the evening light gave way to Winter’s early dark.
I was thinking about the holiday season ahead and how excited I was for all the friends I was going to see and the family I had already seen. My heart filled up to the brim and halfway through my walk I decided that I would treat myself to a Lion Chai from my absolute favorite local tea shop in Brampton, T By Daniel.
There are some moments where all it takes to put a spring into your step is doing something ordinarily extraordinary and filling the present with the joy of life’s simple pleasures.
While on my way back home, I was watching the leaves as I passed them by with each footfall.
Taking a sip from my delicious tea, I looked down at the wet pavement to see a leaf curled into the shape of a heart.
Often the simple pleasures bring out life’s greatest joys and it starts with remembering to lavish ourselves in the richness of the present moment.
