I was out for sushi lunch with my best friend, Momma Bird.
He and I were connecting after a while of passing by one another like ships in the night. Not entirely unable to connect, but without enough time to meet in person.
We both had a great time re-telling old stories and sharing new details of what’s been going on in our lives. He’s looking at houses to buy and I let him know about how work was going and the apartments I’m looking at, in addition to the cars I’m hoping to lease or buy.
Time passed so quickly but felt like it didn’t exist at all and as we were sitting, waiting for the bill to arrive, I saw a heart in the ginger, served alongside the wasabi.
Sometimes that’s all you need.
Sushi, your best friend and great conversation.
And of course, the hearts.
