The evening light faded into darkness that wrapped itself around the world in the way that only dusk can as it gives way to the night ahead.
I was thinking about various dating experiences I had and reflected on how grateful I was to have experienced every part of it -the good and bad- because they gave me so much of an appreciation for what good things were happening right in front of me.
I was readying myself for sleep when I pulled the curtain to my bedroom closed and saw, for the first time ever, the heart shaped marking on my headboard at the angle I was seeing in that moment.
I’ve had that particular bed since last March but it was the first time I was noticing it there.
There is something to be said for the nature of small coincidences and other synchronicity that brings the hearts my way. Would I have been able to notice the heart if I wasn’t feeling so extremely grateful for my experiences? I’m not sure.
What I do know is that I have a great deal to be thankful for and whether that brings the hearts my way, I don’t know but I will say that this was one of the most exciting hearts to find because it was literally hidden in plain view for about eight months.
